Christmas Greetings 2022 from Pastor Jon

Christmas Tidings

This salvation was something even the prophets wanted to know more about when they prophesied about this gracious salvation prepared for you. They wondered what time or situation the Spirit of Christ within them was talking about when he told them in advance about Christ’s suffering and his great glory afterward. They were told that their messages were not for themselves, but for you. And now this Good News has been announced to you by those who preached in the power of the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. It is all so wonderful that even the angels are eagerly watching these things happen.” (1 Peter 1:10-12, NLT)

In recent days, as Sharon has been mulling over the children’s skit for our upcoming Christmas Musical, she and I have been pondering what it must have been like for the angels when they were told that the Eternal Son was going to become a human being, and they were to announce his birth. Is “shocked” a strong enough word to convey what they must have felt? How could it possibly be that the one before whom the twenty four elders and all the host of heaven continually bowed down in worship was to empty himself of his glory, take the form of a servant, and be born in the likeness of men?” (Philippians 2:7).

Our wish for you this Christmas is that we all may share in the wonder the angels must have felt as they were “eagerly watching these things happen,” and be filled anew with gratitude and joy for the gift they announced to us on that first Christmas Eve, “unto you is born this day in the city of David a savior, who is Christ the Lord!” (Luke 2:11).

Merry Christmas from the Enright’s
