As Christians, we believe that we are called to share our lives with one another in community. As we our lives growing together in love and unity, we give witness to the gospel and its transforming power (John 17:20-23). Through our community life, we also learn from each other, and are strengthened in our walk of faith, so that, together, we are continually growing up into Christ (Ephesians 4:11-16).
Toward that end, Troy Christian Chapel hosts a variety of Community Life Groups and activities ranging from fellowship, to ministry and spiritual enrichment. Below are just a few of the ways you can participate.

Ministries for Women
Troy Christian Chapel’s Ladies Fellowship plans wedding showers, baby showers, a ladies’ Christmas Party and other fellowship activities throughout the year for the women of TCC and their friends and family. These events serve as avenues to get to know other women in the church while serving the TCC Community.
There are also two Bible Studies for women: the Lydia Group that meets every other Thursday evening at 7:00 pm, and W.IN.G.S-Women in God’s Scripture-that meets every Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 am.
Activities and Groups for Men
The Saturday Men’s Group meets for fellowship, prayer, and a study of the Bible or the reading and discussion of a book by a noted Christian author on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month at 7 am.
The Men of TCC also actively participate with other TCC Members in various work projects and service activities to support and enrich the life of the TCC family.
TCC’s men have participated in the Inter Church Athletic Fellowship Softball league for more than 30 years. Softball provides an atmosphere for Christian men to enjoy a healthy, structured athletic competition. The team practices during the month of April, and games are played at Liberty Park in Sterling Heights on Saturday evenings from late April through June. Members of the congregation can come out and cheer the team on, while enjoying a great family night out.
Pathlink is a ministry designed to encourage and enrich the lives of young, single adults and young married couples. Activities range from “meet ups” in member homes for meals or refreshments to group outings to explore the area’s various attractions and special events. In addition to fellowshipping with one other, activities also focus on exploring ways of connecting more intentionally with the rest of the TCC family.
Every Second Monday, the people of TCC meet in the Sanctuary to pray for our congregation, our Country, and the church around the world from 7:00 to 8:00 pm.
TCC offers area residents an opportunity to participate in a English as a Second Language ministry oriented to sharing the love of Christ by providing conversational English and cultural acclamation classes to immigrants who would like to improve their knowledge of English and American culture.
Conversational classes are held Mondays from 9:00 to 10:30 am.
Circle of Friends
The Circle of Friends ministry exists to nurture fellowship among single adults. Activities are held throughout the year with outings that range from visiting area restaurants to attending plays and musicals, and exploring other cultural events in and around SE Michigan.
Prayer is central to the TCC Family. When our Community needs strengthening and encouragement through prayer, we believe Jesus Christ intercedes on our behalf. The Prayer Chain Ministry shares these requests through a “chain” of like minded and committed “prayer warriors” who take these requests in faith before the Lord.
When a life event interrupts the normal flow of life, like the birth of a child, an illness or the death of a loved, the Meals Ministry provides a concrete demonstration of love and care through the delivery of meals.
Throughout the year, TCC’s adults have opportunities to attend cultural events or outdoor activities like camping, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, picnics and bike rides. Adults are also invited to attend an annual Christmas Party. Announcements of these and other similar events for fellowship are listed in the worship folder and at the Welcome Center.
TCC’s book club is a great place for enjoying fellowship, learning and good food. The books chosen represent a wide range of styles, topics and time periods. After the current selection is read, a discussion is held at a member’s home. Approximately seven books are read each year. The book club has been a popular feature of TCC’s community life for more than 17 years, and during that time more than 110 books have been read and discussed.
Fine Arts Department
The Fine Arts Department assists TCC’s Congregation in praising the Lord through music, and the other unique, creative gifts that God has given to those who worship at TCC.
TCC is extremely fortunate to have a wide range of musical talent and interest within our Community. If you play a brass or another instrument or just love to sing to the Lord, there are opportunities for you to add you talent and interests to others in our congregation.
TCC’s choir provides music for Sunday worship and special event throughout the year. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday nights at 8:15 pm.
TCC’s Brass Ensemble adds its special musical flavor on specific occasions throughout year. Watch for announcements about upcoming rehearsal times and dates for being a special part of worship.
The Technical Arts Team provides amplification and accompaniment tracks for services and other performances, as well as special audio enhancements for the hearing impaired. CDs of TCC’s worship services and Sunday School classes can be requested at the Welcome Center in the Narthex.
